Little Roo's idiosynchrosies...

Hello all
Our little Roo has always had a strange choice in toys... hmmm i use the word "toys" loosely. Let me share with you as it so much a part of his character :-)

It all started with..

the mouse.... I eventually called it squeak :-) He dragged it with him everywhere along with Doo doo bear...
He then moved on...

Papa's tape measure entertained him for hours one morning, guess what i bought him on Thurs? Yup, his very own tape measure :-)

He just loves to sit and pull it put and push the button and watch it go shooting back in again! He gets mad when it wont go back, larf!

And then, the absolute favourite, it gets dragged all around the house, fortunately if we get him to wave bye bye to it we can leave it at home but he usually finds another....

His CHORD! Otherwise called his chordy... he loves to wind it up and does so expertly! When Kade comes to play, he is presented with the lower end while he carries the plug end around...when Kade is not around, then one of us has to do... painful at times. Heaven forbid we try to use the chord to actually vacuum or some such thing, he performs something chronic. LOL! Some days he is helpful and allows us to vaccum but with a few conditions attached....
As in, he does it.....with Aunty Sams' shoes on.
At a birthday party he went to, instead of jumping on the jumping castle, he followed the chord to the plug point... naturally thats the fun bit? At school or in the shops, if he hears a vaccuum, he heads straight for it LOL :-)
Otherwise, he is a very helpful little boy, he loves to help pack the laundry away (on the floor) put washing into the machine, takeit out and pass it to me to hang. He loves washing dishes, when i need 10 minutes peace and quiet, i just run a sink of water with a bit of soap and a few tupperwares and bottles... it is a little messy but so worth it! He loves to sweep and rake, and helps to pick up leaves to throw away. He likes to help dad with the pool every day (much to Clints horror) and with any odd jobs he is doing around the house.
On that note, I will leave you..
Roo kisses

Mommy, I love you...

I am bursting :-) after i finished reading to Roo tonight, i said my ususal Good night God bless, but not I love you as i had said it in a different order tonight, normally it is the last thing i say. Anyway, as i was walking out the door, this little voice..."boob.......boob" i say "mommy" he says....."mommy, I love you"

Thats all a mom needs!

Hi all

Ok so i am still in 2 minds whether to keep this blog running since it was only an experiment in the first place, but while i decide i thought i would share a little more with you.

Ruddick was christened on 29 September 2007, at the Falcon Crest Chapel where Clint and I were married. Dr Sheila performed the service as she had done for our wedding. It was a lovely though chilly day and it was great to have all the family there. Roo was angelic!

Aunty Sam is his Godmother while Uncle Sean is his Godfather. Lucky little boy!

It was around this time that I was contacted by one of the moms from antenatal classes, Kerry, inviting me to Cradle Club. I was not so keen at first but wow, a new lease on life. I always felt bad that the only thing i ever talked about was Ruddick and all things baby, but here... par for the course and rather therapeutic! Thanks Kerry! We have since all returned to work for the most part but have kept in touch which is great as the kids are friends and the monthly book club meeting is a great way to unwind :-) the glass of wine is always welcome too!

Roos' first Christmas approached way too fast! It was fun to have family pics done for the Xmas cards for family overseas... and a good thing we did it then coz last year he was impossible to get to sit still, also it gets rather expensive bribing Clint to sit in front of a camera!

I am having difficulty posting photos, so will just have to type the rest of my post today and show pics later. Rudick was so good with all the changes in his routine over Xmas, i think i had more angst than he did. Christmas was fabulous, Roo was spoilt rotten and he got to walk in his walker for the first time. He also discovered the joys of the pool and loved cooling off in the water.

I am going to love and leave you there as i really want to post pics. So until next time...

Roo kisses

I will start from the very beginning. On 1 June 2007 at 9h10, little Roo entered our lives after an amazing pregnancy! He weighed in at 4.02kgs and was 50cm long. What an amazing experience, one that i will cherish forever.

I am blessed with a loving, supportive, caring and long-suffering husband who has been awesome, as well as the most incredible family... Lucky for me that thanks to the awful teachers strike, Sam was unable to go to work so i had my mom and sister around me all the time. I am blessed!
I dont want to bore you with details that are gone (but definately not forgotten... like by 36B bra LOL :-) ) so i will share with you a few highlights and treasured moments.

It was so special to watch the
first moments when
my mom, dad, mom S and Samantha held Ruddick
for the first time, i thought i was feeling fantastic, but i
dont think it compared to
the joy they felt in that
moment!

When Roo was born, Aunty Sam bought him a special bear to love, and boy does he! We call it Doo Doo Bear and he drags it everywhere with him. All searches for a substitute have failed, so we continue to say our prayers every time Doo Doo has a bath.
I have so much more i want to share with you, but it is time for bed. So i will love and leave you for now. Keep watching for the next post :-)
Roo kisses
