Decoration day

Hiya

Today is decoration day, so excited to put the trees up with Roo. First we off to Gammy and Papa and Aunty Sam where we will put up their decorations, listen to the cds Sam and I have bought mom to replace her old Xmas LP's (thank heavens we bought different ones lol!) and then have lunch. Then we off back home for a nap followed by round 2 of decorating! Aunty Sam and maybe Granny Kook will come to help :-) Going to put up all Roos Xmas art. Yay! By the way, if you are wondering where his father will be..... HIDING! repeating his little mantra...... "Bah humbug!"

Will have to watch him carefully though as he woke with a temp this am and has nasty cough. Have dosed him already with the essentials. Part of me thinks i should just let him be and fight it off on his own, but the bugs going around these days are grim and hard to fight off. Besides, we have a very busy weekend ahead so cant afford to have the little man ill. Its his best friends birthday celebration on sat 10-12, then dinner at home with the whole Young clan, then his cousins christening on sunday down the coast. Clint and I are Godparents, so we can hardly miss it and we havent seen them in a long while so dont want to miss it! Get better Roo!

Anyhoo, i will dash now as its time for Roo to have breakfast :-)

It's been a while...

Hi all!

It has been far too long since i updated my blog, the year has gotten away with me and i seem to spend far too much time playing farmville on facebook! My mission this holiday is to spend more time blogging. I just hope that more people find it interesting to follow.

So what has happened since July? Sadly, Roo has grown into a real little boy, any sign of baby is renegated to bedtime nappies :-( His move into his big boy bed was easy, 2 or 3 nights of tears, but to this day he has never gotten out of bed to come find us :-) In the morning he chooses which one of us he wants, (then we choose which one of us is actually going to listen LOL) we get up and the day starts.

School has helped us alot to win the cork (dummy) and teddy battle. He now happily goes a whole day without his cork and bear and only sleeps with them at night. I think at 3 we will go cold turkey with the dummy! Me thinks that the Easter Bunny may need it for other little children :-)

Roo is talking more now that the cork is out his mouth, though Clint still needs me to translate regularly and even I have failed to translate his favourite saying "awayah" or at least i think that is how it would be spelt. It is so cute to hear us in the way he talks, he says "never mind" just like my dad, "nice one" after a bunce (aka fart) just like his dad, "no later" again just like Clint, to just name a few. It is really more the way it is said more than what is said. He is still attached to his extension chord, except now the passion has grown to include "Jabu's chord" ( the chord the gardener uses for the lawn mower) my hairdrier, the cable for my laptop if he can get hold of it and the newest obsession..... the iron! If only i could get him to reach the ironing board I may not be so perturbed! Ha Ha! He is in his element when i get the vaccuum cleaner out and will happily work for the afternoon. Polishing the furniture involves him demanding his own cloth and we set to work on every piece of wooden furniture we own!

Roo also loves to bake, his most recent accomplishment was the Xmas cake!

He loves to help sieve the flour as you can see here. He reacts to anything with egg in the mixture which kills the fun a bit, he gags and battles to breathe, so we tend to make things without egg. His absolute favourite munchie is moms crunchies. He also likes custard biscuits.

He is an odd little sausage. He wont drink milkshake, wont eat icecream or sweets (except for smarties) and chooses salty biscuits over a packet of chips. He has however seemed to have made an exception to the choccies that come out of the advent calendar :-)

It is so much fun building his imagination with regards to Christmas! He has seen "Father Christmas" at a party and was quite happy. He knows that he brings presents and if you ask him he will tell you " Father Christmas brings big one presents" LOL. Santa delivered early as his jungle gym went up in Nov. Obviously he will visit on Christmas eve too though! I think a few husbands might be surprised as to just how much Santa spoils good little boys though :-) Hmmmm wonder if we will be in trouble????

Anyway, if i write all the news and anecdotes in one night,i will run out of things to share.
